This is my Covid-19 Report for Week 64. It focuses on Vaccinations in Texas for Individuals over 12. Because the teenagers were added two weeks ago, I have had to recalibrate my Tables and and corresponding Plot for Key Regional Counties over 50%. The effect is to reduce all total % Vaccinated by the increase in Eligible Population. Articles have been written recently that mention CDC's concerns with rising numbers of adolescents hospitalized for Covid. https://www.nbcnews.com/.../cdc-director-deeply-concerned...
The Table shows that only the Border Region exceeds 50%, needing 4-8 more weeks to reach 60%. The Panhandle is at the other end of the Vaccination Rate Spectrum. At less than 35% with many counties in the 20's, this part of the state will not reach the 60% target before the year is out.
Charted Cases vs. % Vaccinated for El Paso (Border), Fort Bend (Gulf Coast), Travis (Central), and Collin (North) Counties show a decreasing case load as a function of increased vaccination.
